Data Deletion
Data Deletion Instructions · Version of 1 October 2026
This page explains which data Share Motion stores about you, how you disconnect a platform yourself, and how you have your whole account deleted. You do not need to give a reason.
1. Disconnect a platform
You can do this yourself at any time, with immediate effect:
- Sign in to Share Motion and open Channels.
- Pick the platform at the top and press Disconnect under Connection.
This deletes the stored access token, account ID and profile data of that connection from our database. Scheduled posts for that account are no longer published.
You can also revoke access directly on the platform:
- Instagram — Settings → Apps and websites → Share Motion → Remove.
- TikTok — Settings → Security and permissions → Apps → Share Motion → Remove access.
- YouTube — your Google Account → Third-party apps & services → Share Motion → Delete all connections.
- Facebook and Threads — Settings → Apps and websites → Share Motion → Remove.
- X — Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions → Connected apps → Share Motion → Revoke app permissions.
- LinkedIn — Settings → Data privacy → Other applications → Permitted services → Share Motion → Remove.
- Pinterest — Settings → Security and logins → Apps → Share Motion → Revoke access.
- Bluesky — Settings → Privacy and security → App passwords → delete the password created for Share Motion.
A token revoked this way is useless to us immediately. For Instagram, Facebook and Threads, Meta notifies us automatically and we delete the connection from our database at once, without any further step from you. If you also request deletion of your data there, Meta gives you a confirmation code whose status you can look up at /legal/data-deletion/status. For every other platform, please also disconnect under Channels or write to us, so the copy in our database is removed too.
2. Delete your account and all data
There is currently no button to delete the account yourself. Deletion happens on request. Write to privacy@share-motion.com with the subject “Delete my Share Motion account”, from the email address you registered with, so we can identify you without asking for further proof.
3. What is deleted
- your user account and sign-in data;
- brand profiles, content strategies, content plans and schedules;
- captions and your gallery with every reference to generated images, videos, carousels and avatars and to material you uploaded (for the files themselves see clause 4);
- all stored access tokens and profile data of connected social accounts;
- billing states stored in the workspace, such as credit balance and plan.
4. What is not deleted, and why
- Posts already published. They live on the platform, in your own account there. Please remove them on the platform.
- Files at our storage provider fal.ai. Images and videos are stored by fal.ai in the US. We delete generated files there where fal offers a deletion function. Files you uploaded cannot currently be deleted individually at fal: they remain reachable at their unguessable address, but nothing links to them any more.
- Invoices and accounting records. We must keep them for seven years (§ 132 BAO) and use them for nothing else.
- Payment data at Stripe. Our payment provider keeps your payment history under its own retention duties.
- Backups.Deleted data can remain in our database provider's daily backups for up to seven days until they are overwritten; it is not used in the meantime.
5. Time limits
- Disconnecting — immediately with the click under Channels, or for Instagram, Facebook and Threads immediately when you remove the app on the platform.
- Deletion request — we confirm receipt and delete within 30 days, at the latest within one month of receipt (Art. 12(3) GDPR).
- Active subscription. If a paid package is still running, we cancel it at the end of the current billing period and delete afterwards. If you want immediate deletion, say so in your request; the current period is then not refunded (see clause 7 of the terms).
6. Further rights
Besides deletion you have the rights of access, rectification, restriction, portability and objection, see the privacy policy. You can also complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority at any time.
